La Rochelle

La Rochelle is a first-class port city.

Its nickname ” Porte Océane ” comes from the presence of 3 ports (fishing, commercial, pleasure). It boasts a wide variety of natural sites (low-lying coasts, sandy coasts and cliff coasts, coastal coves, small capes, promontories). The pedestrian and shopping streets of the old town attract tourists. Various historical monuments (the Lantern Tower, the Chain Tower, Saint Nicolas) are worth a visit.

Visit the port des minimes from where you can sail to Fort Boyard, or take the bridge to L’Ile De Ré.

For music lovers, don’t forget the Francofolies from July 12 to 16, 2017.
